Near the mouth of the Susquehanna River at Havre de Grace, Maryland, this 32-foot tall conical lighthouse (which is topped with a 9-sided lantern and deck) was first lit in 1827. John O'Neill, who bravely defended the lighthouse and the surrounding area from the British soldiers during the War of 1812, was the first lighthouse keeper and many of his descendants followed until the mid 1900s.

Automation & The Future

The Concord Point Lighthouse, at the time of its decommission in 1975, was the oldest continuously used lighthouse in the state of Maryland. Electrical automation came to the lighthouse in 1920. Today, the Concord Point Lighthouse is maintained by the Friends of Concord Point Lighthouse and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The fully automated lighthouse shines a fixed green light at night. Extensive restorations began in 1979 and are still ongoing, with plans to turn the old keeper's house into a museum.

The Concord Point Lighthouse Ornament is an ideal gift for any lighthouse collector. Tom Pollard Designs specializes in designing the finest gold-plated brass lighthouse ornaments.
