History & Design

Christ Church was founded in Philadelphia in 1695 by members of the Church of England. Within 20 years of building the first, small wooden structure the congegration grew and a new church was constructed between 1727 and 1744. The design of the building is a prime example of 18th century Gregorian architecture and remains a tribute to colonial craftsmanship.

National Landmark

Seven patriots who signed The Declaration of Independence are buried at Christ Church. It is the first Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America and is classified as a National Historic Landmark and an Episcopal parish.

This ornament is a wonderful keepsake to remember your visit to Christ Church in Philadelphia- and a great gift for every patriot and history buff.
